Flooring should always be prioritized over other aspects. Durable and quality floor coating is really crucial to ensure the maintenance and safety of not only houses but commercial and industrial buildings as well.

Get to know why epoxy floor coating is essential especially for commercial and industrial purpose, and how neglecting this aspect can create problems in the future.

Epoxy is a solution that is used for coating floors. It provides better heat resistance compared to alkyd based paints and latex. It also protects the flooring from dampening. Not only that, epoxies are used for decorative floors as well such as terrazzo and chip.

But it is generally used as a coating material which is applied on the concrete surface to improve its performance and make it more attractive and durable.

There is more than one advantage to getting the surface coated with epoxy resins. After its application one can expect an easy-to-clean, seamlessly beautiful and smooth surface. This feature particularly benefits industrial plants that manufacture packaged food, beverages and conduct pharmaceutical operations, as epoxy coating will aid in easier maintenance and cleaning.

Another benefit to having this coating done is that it makes the surface resistant to chemicals. This is ideal for industrial warehouses and manufacturing units that are constantly using chemicals on a large scale. After its application the surface becomes heat, fire, slip and impact resistant which would ensure security and safety of people.

One consideration to using this floor coating product is that it is extremely easy to apply and use and also happens to be environment friendly. In industrial sector, it can cut down on costs of maintaining the floor by protecting the surface from daily wear and tear.

It also allows faster movement of material by creating a smooth surface. This is the reason most of the commercial and industrial buildings like to get their floors coated with epoxy. People who are contemplating the thoughts of renovation are advised to get floor surface coated with this product.

Why are Epoxy Resins used in Different Industries?

Epoxy is a widely used chemical, which is very popular for its versatility. It is an adhesive formula with molecules that have more than one epoxy group. It has the ideal material strength and ideal adhesive strength, and it is easily available at affordable prices.

Epoxy is highly durable and resistant to heat, which is the main reason why different industries use it for various applications.

Some of the Top areas of epoxy resins application include-

When it comes to the construction of automobiles, it is used as structural/engineering adhesive.

It plays a major role in the marine industry because of their better mechanical properties, strength, quality to fill gaps and adhesion.

Usage of this wonderful chemical is not just restricted to technical applications, as artists also use it by mixing pigments to get specific colors.

Its role in the electronic industry is equally important, as epoxy resins are used to make: insulators, PCB’s, hybrid circuits and electricity conductors.

The paint industry also uses epoxies, as paints or color protectors because it dries quickly and offers protective layers that are highly strong.

It is also used in surface coatings, as it offers strong and rustproof surface.

When looking to buy epoxies, it is important to look for a reliable supplier that complies with the given industry standards. At the same time, it is equally necessary to ensure that the supplier has a reputation for delivering high quality products.

Price is another crucial factor that you must take into account, as paying anything more than you should, is going to disappoint you later.

In order to get good quality Epoxies from a reliable source; you should go online for information and reviews posted about the supplier.

What you need to know about the classification of color compounds!

Colors have a special place and meaning in our lives. There is no substitute for colors, which is why we include colors for everything in our everyday lives like; clothing, cars, housing, and in so many, many more things including food. It’s just next to impossible to imagine or live our lives, without color.

Before differentiating color compounds, let us differentiate metals – ferrous and non-ferrous.

Ferrous are the ones, which have large concentration of iron in them and non-ferrous are the opposite.

Now take a look at the various types of compounds of colors-

     1. White Colored Compounds
At times, we need to shine the non-ferrous metals as much as we can. The process goes like this; first, the surface is prepared accordingly. Then, a white compound is applied to the surface to make it as shiny as possible.

     2. Red Colored Compounds
It is also used on non-ferrous metals, and the materials like knobs, fixtures, cabinets, buffs and domet are polished with the help of red colored compound.
These compounds help in giving shine to the knobs and make sure that there are no scratches left on the objects.

     3. Chrome color compound
Plated material is polished with the help of this category of the compounds of color. This helps in giving shine to the material. The chrome compound can be applied to stainless steel. Moreover, it also helps in giving a clear-cut look without any cuts on the material. There is no risk of corrosion on the non-ferrous material, if this compound is applied properly. However, chrome color can be used for non-ferrous and plastic material as well.

For non-ferrous materials, silica can also be used. Silica is a compound used in making flawless mirrors. The shine of a mirror depends on the amount of silica present in it.

Some common applications of epoxy putty!

It takes two constituents to form epoxy putty. Those two constituents are polyamine which is used as a hardening agent and epoxide, which is a common resin. The two are kept apart until they are mixed together in a particular shape. Once the epoxy putty is molded, it is left to harden and cure. Upon curing, the putty becomes extremely durable and hard. Epoxy putty has a number of applications for multiple purposes.

Repairing:
It is mostly used for household and automotive repairs. This putty has the ability to fill in holes and dents in cars, and it can also fill the gouge in fiberglass boats. Since it does not seep or bleed, it is good to fill holes in damaged wood and repair broken crockery and dishes. Amazingly, Epoxy putty is also good for repairs involving water, because it is super hard and does not soften.

Adhesive usage:
Epoxy resins have good adhesive properties and that is why epoxy putty is ideal for fixing and repairing broken things together. Some of its common uses as an adhesive are; reattaching broken wood pieces, broken shoes, luggage handles, etc. It is highly durable, and can handle heavy weight and pressure. As an adhesive, it has incredible strength, it can bond easily with objects, and incredibly it is also waterproof. This is why it is such an amazing gluing product.

Modeling:
Epoxy putty is commonly used in modeling and sculpturing of many types. It is commonly used in taxidermy, for creating mounts and also for creating relief maps and similar structures. It can easily be sculpted for adding small details to train and airplane models. These structures can then be painted and sanded.

Leveling
Since epoxy putty is curable for creating durable shapes, it has the ability of carrying weights without breaking or cracking. Because of this property, it is ideal for leveling stuff such as cabinets, chairs and tables. A small piece of putty is molded in the right height and shape in order to avoid the furniture from shaking and wobbling. The putty can be painted on, in order to match the furniture’s texture and color.

Part replacement
Epoxy putty is used for molding out replacement buttons and knobs. It is easily sculpted for replacing oven and air conditioner knobs, and even plastic toys, thus avoiding the need of specialty replacements.

epoxy resins uses in the plastic industry are endless. We have just discussed, some of its most common and major usage.
